Since Operation Vat Alles deployed its members in Soshanguve, the streets of Block H and L have never been cleaner.
Operation Vat Alles is a group from ward 36 that was formed in May. Vat Alles members were hired by the Tshwane metro to ensure the cleanliness of Soshanguve Block H and L.
The group does not only sweep streets but also cleans school premises and gathers waste from parks. Memme Kutumela, ward co-ordinator of operation Vat Alles said : " I would like to express my appreciation towards the mayor of the metro for giving us jobs. Not only do we benefit, but the community also reaps the rewards in the form of a clean environment."
Thato Lefakane said the project was aime at giving unemployed residents jobs and empowering them to break the cycle of poverty.
" Vat Alles came to the rescue. Jobs were created and as a result, we can feed our families," said Lefakane.
