Kaizer Chiefs Manager arrested by the Hawks

 Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has been arrested after a swoop by the Hawks on Wednesday.
Although details remain sketchy, Motaung stands accused of forgery and fraud in relation to his role in the construction of the Mbombela Stadium ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.The details of the case against him have yet to be made public.

The construction of the venue was fraught with controversy from the start and was the likely cause of at least one death, though this has yet to be been proven in a court of law.Mbombela municipality speaker Jimmy Mohlala, who blew the whistle on alleged corruption in a 2010 construction project, was shot dead in his Nelspruit house in 2009.

Mohlala had blown the whistle on Mbombela municipal manager Jacob Dladla, who was accused of manipulating 2010 construction contracts.

Mohlala was also already investigating a fraud case involving a company belonging to Motaung that was responsible for the construction of the Mbombela Stadium.
