American actors in South Africa

By Tebele Karabo

American actor Idris Elba  in South Africa to play Nelson Mandela Long walk to freedom

Idris Elba to perform long walk to freedom

South Africa got the talent whereby we have the variety of actors and actress who can play any content of a story based on a true story on someone vital or an event.

But since the introduction of american actors and actress in the world especially in African countries, they are taking each and every movie in our countries which were suppossed to be played  by our local artists.

Lets go back a little bit, Hotel Rwanda movie that was based most on ethnic instability in Rwanda was characterised by the american actor Don Cheadle instead of the local actors in Rwanda because they have all round understanding of the ethnic war between the tutsi and the hutus.

Or maybe is because  Africa  don't have the relevant broadcasting companies or resources that will cast all events that took place in Africa over  the decades or we just let the west to overtake what was supposed to be done by our local artists?

Now in South Africa the very same problem is rising again when "daddy little girls"famous actor Idris Elba  is going to act the movie of our first black president Nelson Mandela's role in  the movie Long walk to freedom.

In South Africa we have the relevant actors who have the understanding of the icon's history on long walk to freedom better than american actors. And we have better well-known actors like John Khani and many more who can also play the part of our first president movie Long walk to freedom.

Okay is it because our content is not capable of creating such movies whereby they are letting American actors to take over or what? I don't know because it seems that way to me though...
All Im saying in this opinion piece in my blog is that don't we have relevant and well-known actors in South Afrca who can play our local movies based on true stories of local heroes, events or novels rather than letting other actors to perform the roles in our country?

Is this the new face of television broadcast?

By: Tebele L.K
Tebele Karabo

I don't know if I am right or wrong here because what im about to write below I promise you all my viewers, you going to love it.

First time being the part of t.v  I was so happy whereby I thought that is the end of the world but hey when the real job started, all hell break loose. In t.v, you have to choose a partner so that you going to produce minimum of eight stories for that particular term.

At first I covered my first story without my tv partner and I was devastated because you can't be a reporter and a camera person at the same time but hey if your dedicated and  have  love for what you do, nothing is impossible.

From my view I think that im going to make it hey because i have  the glits and the glam to beat this practical course this year.

To be continued......

Online journalism in South Africa

By: Tebele L.Karabo

Online news and journalism are still existing which still disseminate information through internet for the readers to get breaking news on their fingertips.

The most popular online news organizations which are well-known and recognized are iOL, SABC news, EWN etc. that keeps the world of online industry of news online publications throughout the country.

We start with the Independent online publication (IOL) is a well-known news organization with the most impressive style of presenting news to the public. This online news publication has the layout page on internet that is quite catchy along with its multimedia elements that is up to standard in terms of visuals and template design. It is speed and easy to browse stories on it without waiting for long time to view stories, pictures and videos and advertisement are interesting.

Sabc news organization another well-known government run online publication or state controlled whereby they are under the control of the government. This news organization encounter the lack use of multimedia elements e.g. videos, audio because everything they do before publication, it is rectified by the state to check whether the breaking news are in favour or criticism with the ruling party. All in all what I like about this online news organization is that their design is moderate and the content is localised.

The advertisements of the Sabc news organization are educational where you can find programmes for TV; radio etc. to view matriculated shows.

Meanwhile Eye Witness News an independent online news organization differs with the above mention ones with its style of presenting news to the masses and its content. Its use of multimedia elements is well planned and balanced whereby everything that you are looking it’s just on on your fingertips.

The  style of stories  that are structured on this online news publication are too way different compared to other news organizations because  they focus on current  breaking news only rather than focusing on other educational programmes.  Colour of the online publication is not catchy is like it is in black and white so it is boring for the readers like me to spend few minutes on it.

In conclusion online journalism in South Africa is coming along in terms of gathering and disseminating news to the public to criticise or favour without fear. South African online journalism is greater whereby we are going inch by inch to  be regarded with the best online news organizations worldwide.

Tebele Karabo 2012

By: Tebele Karabo

Sometimes I ask myself why am I living  and striving for on these mother earth surrounded by people and animals. In life there are people even family members included  who are always negative and critising about the way about your future saying that you will never make it instead of encouraging you to go out there and leave a print of your name in the record books of achivement.

Well 2012 is year for me whereby my life depends on this year and im striving to pursue my dreams as they unfolds. If this year I don't make it, then my life is back to square one and my enemies will rise and clap their hands for a job well achieved because of my downfall.

In my home language which is Pedi it says that "persevieverance is the mother of succes" meaning I'l work hard this year and shows my true colours towards any challenge that comes my way. Some may say you will never make it because while you were growing up, they used to undermine your intelligent in the past but hey the more they undermine my intergrity, the more sharper my hungry brain demolish its prey which is education.

Well as I said in my blog about my life hope you saw it, I mentioned that my life was in broken bottles whereby your enemies will just break you leg instead of lifting you up. So 2012 is my year to achieve my goals  and prosper and the greatest thing will be to fly towards my future.

One day I will make a brighter day and create a succes way for others people to follow in my footseps so that they can have a marvelous, prosperous life. In life don't let people to control the way you live your life because you will never how to create a platform for yourself and to those you love.

Rise through criticism, favourism and improper motives by people  dragging your status  in the mud and above all this rise above hate so that you can live your life the way you want to live it. Thats my advise to you all who will read this article wishing you a progressive year........@blue print said...

Say NO to secrecy Bill

By: Tebele Karabo

In a democratic country the media is always free from any external cencorship and they enjoy a large degree of freedom to report any information to the public in order fror them to know whats going on in the society.

During the apartheid era, the media in South Africa was not free to report any information about the government and journalists were arrested and detained to prison. Political activists like Nelson Mandela, Steve Biko etc fought against the  white regime for the media to be free in our country.

But after President Jacob Zuma served as a president of this country, chaos started to steer up flames and everyone went mad. We thought that Zuma will change our country forever and let the society to express their opinions about the government.

Introducing the secrecy information bill, our government there lost their sight and ignored the  wishes of our past heroes about the freedom of the media inthe couintry. The ruling government (ANC) from my side I think they are tired of ruling our democratic country, they must retreat and let other parties to rule the country.

"Why would you destroy something that you had build", the government is shooting itself on the feet and they lose their quantity of ruling and trust from the citizens of this country.

Many opinions  had been raised and some of my friends in this campus contradicted and some agreed with the intoduction of secresy bill. Lindokuhle Mnisi (Journalist) said the "government is not doing the right thing by cencoring the media and it will pose a threat to us as jurnalist of tomorrow".

The other comment was from Robinson Nqola also a journalist said that " the government is doing the right thing by intoducing the bill it will presenty a bad image to the world and the government should protect the weakness of this country".

This shows that the introduction of secrecy bill is posing a threat to journalists of tomorrow and the freedom of media in this country. From my side as a journalist also I say No to secrecy bill because it will turn our peacefull democratic country into a authoritarian state.

No to introduction of information bill because it shows that our leaders want to destroy our wealth of this country without informing the public....

SASCO ON THE MOVE....

By: Tebele Karabo

Tshwane University of Technology last week, it was a busy week when students were campaigning for their political parties.

One of the prominent student political party South African Student Congress (SASCO) that they were giving away t-shirt to students including the first years in order to gain their trust and vote for them on the 27th of October this year.

The way in which SASCO movement party gained its support, they even marched to South campus block H to spread their voice and persuate students to vote for them on the election time ensuring students with education, residence and more.

While opposition parties like PASMA campaigned also by singing protest songs about ANC president Jacob Zuma in order to tease SASCO.....

But SASCO didn't even mind because they have hope that they will win this elections on the 27th of October 2011.

A true friend who will never let me down....

By: Tebele Karabo

Mathabo
A true friend is a person who will never let you down whether  the situation is good or bad it can be but she will stick with you. So in life you have million friends but they are not all honest but there is a one who will love, cherish and accept you in million ways.

During my life at home last year actually, I had friends at school and I cherished them all but there was a friend that I admired the most and she also felt the same about me. Ladies and gentleman her name is the one and only Mathabo and I never thought that in life someone like her would admire.

best gift
You'll always be my best friend, you know too much!"
"When it hurts to look back and your scared to look ahead you can look beside you and  I will be there for you".

So whatever where we are right now in different places, we always find a way to meet and share the old memories and the obstacles we went through the past years.

"I salute you mgani your the best gift I've ever had and by the way wish you all the best in future"

Im the best

By: Tebele Karabo

I never thought that I will go high and far like this because the previous years I suffured low- self esteem and prosperity.

Even people on Face book say that im the  best for my future and they regard me as the best recipe for their eyes and minds on facebook. They say that I inspire them everyday when I post something and this shows that im something or a role model for them on facebook.

My mother said to me that my son " if you believe in yourself sonny, your going to be the biggest thing in your future whereby your enemies will be surprised to see you like that" and I just love my mother because she inspires me.

Now I have the going spirit for my future and Im not doubting myself anymore because I realised that in this world I came to conquer, win, prosper, rise and to fly in order to fulfil my life. I believe that Im going to be the biggest something that many people will never thought.....

I Tebele Karabo aka "Blue Print" say that I will thrise for my country, village, province and district and conquer for them"

Im going live and Im gonna take them by storm.

Democratic Alliance will rule if they don't watch out

By: Tebele Karabo
Watch out ANC

African National Congress is the current ruling party for the country South Africa and many people are voting for it every elections time which is a good thing that shows trust and reliance for this political party but the question is Is ANC showing trust, honesty and solution to the people's problems?

The answer is a big NO! It is because the ruling party now what is doing is for the rulers to think for themselves and those around them without even thinking for the public needs and interests.

How could a mother who have children needs them in tough times but when life is fine, she abandoned them for good..why?

I don't get it hey, these people think they will rule the country forever until jesus christ come down to earth, well they are wrong because how could you sustain yourself while on the other hand you betray your people.

From my perspective as a prospective student of journalism, I see Democratic Aliance (DA) to rule the country because the mother body needs rehab centre in order to get its life back on track.

DA will take over trust me on this one because the ruling party is losing its cool and is fighting itself whereby they no longer  functioning within or respecting the constitution by doing lot of corruption.

ANC beer party... you better watch out hey because DA is coming and you will not see it when they take over South Africa.

The next big thing to happen...

By: Tebele Karabo

In life there is a time whereby you have to stand for your own self in order to be heard and for people especially your friends to see that you've been grown up.

My life as a teenager was never fruitful journey for me because people used to take me down and not believing that the black cloud that is above me will get removed one of the good days.

They even  made me to start looking down on my self  and saying that will I make it for the future? Because if your own people in your area don't believe in you, then you will also lose touch in life.

But with the power of God everything was a minor issue because if you believe in yourself, everything is possible. My teachers said to me that "boy" chase your dreams because we as your second parents, we see potential in you as someone in future so go for it boy and don't lose hope.

Some in my community started to believe in me by saying that take care of yourself and make sure that whatever you do, do it for your mother because your her last hope to better her life in future.

So this means that if you believe in yourself, everything that comes your way is fruitful and there's no turning back.

Today I say im proud of myself of where I am right now because all I do I make sure that Im doing this for my mother because if it wasn't about her I wouldn't be here where I am today.

Will South African government Censor Media ?

By: Tebele Karabo

Our own South African government under the leadership of African National Congress  during the apartheid era fought  for the media to be free from censorship until 1994 when the media including the freedom of democracy flourished in South Africa.

But the freedom of the press received a  kickback from the very same government that fought for the media to be free. ANC now want to tolerate the media on how to report about the government and its political officials so that the public don't know about their secrets.

Media has been reporting the corruption about political officials to the public to know about whats going on about their ruling government and political officials. Government saw it as a bad image about them displayed to the public and they didn't like the idea.

While other political parties like Democratic Alliance(DA) support the idea of the media to report everything about corruption that is taking place in the country about the ruling party and also contradict the idea of African National Congress censorship of the media.

The big question rise Is DA want to gain support from the educated people (media) by supporting them and does ANC digging its own grave?

Well lets wait for the results because they postponed the march of journalists about secrecy bill and will the public go to DA for help or stuck in ANC for complaints?

Wow 17 children is not a child play

By: Tebele Karabo

Jane Nkosi mother of 17 children

Jane Nkosi is a woman who have 17 children in the village of Kotsiri village near my hood Ga-maloma  Sekhukhune land.

According to Sowetan live interview with her, they say Jane Nkosi had a last born child  this June this year.
Nkosi has given birth 21 times, with two sets of twins being born.

How shocking is that for a rural women to have 17 children without her husband employed and my question is how is she coping with her children.

The unemployed mother could have 23 children, but four died after birth, one of who was a twin born in 2005.
Her husband, Mbaleko Shabangu, is also unemployed, making it difficult for the couple to provide for their children properly.

Are the Government doing its best to solve this crisis in this poor family because seriously they need  attention.Only one of a 17 children, only one has Matric. He was employed at a local mine for about 18 months until he was retrenched in December.

I hope Local government can do something to solve this issue with immediate effect because they need help and they need now..
Lets hope also Kotsiri community could do everything they have in their power to eradicate this problem.

Do guns kill people?

By: Tebele Karabo

An innocent gun

Everytime I ask myself that do guns kills people or people kill people with guns? This qoute has led to several arguments even people on facebook ask it for clarification.

But from my side as a blogger and a journalist I say people kill people not guns kill people because people use  guns to kill people.

You will never know maybe I may be wrong or right but at the end of the day A machine won't kill a human being if is not used by another human being to do it.
